I was looking for something to smooth my curls without straightening and found the pro smooth over from amika. After performing the treatment I am definitely impressed. the hair feels soft, shiny, and still has movement. There was a slight smell during the first flat ironing with product in the hair however after rinsing and the second pass there wasn't a smell. Cant wait to test this out on my clients and see different results!
The smell the first few wahed following care at home isn’t great. I’ve had a hard time finding some info as far as using it with color serves. How soon before or after can you highlight/color hair with this smoothing treatment? Or can it be done the same day? If so, should it be done before or after highlights in the same day.
I just finished the treatment. My frizzy, untameable hair is so smooth. I am so impressed. The smell when applying was a little strong., didn’t love it. We shall see if it holds up. So far.. this is the best treatment and frizz fighting product I’ve ever used.
It was horrible to round brush with a hair dryer and then to try and straighten. The texture was awful and tangled. Even after rinsing and using a conditioner the texture was not any smoother and had a residue! Would not recommend. A lot of time for no results
I am a stylist. I used this on my friend who had some damage due to going blonde from black box color and we both felt her hair come back to life! She was tangly and porous before the treatment. After, her hair blow dried so much easier and faster. It was also softer than it has been in two years and her hair is naturally on the coarser side. I proceeded to use it on myself because my hair is also lightened but a very different texture and I am also happy with my results. I won't lie, there is a slight smell... but as someone who has been doing hair for over 13 years, I can't say i've used a smoothing treatment that doesn't come with that side affect and am hoping it fades away like other services I have used in the past. Looking forward to seeing how it lasts over the next 6 weeks!
